The Search Process - 10 Steps to Success

 


HReed&Company will tailor each search to the specific needs of our clients - qualifying the characteristics of every position to be filled. The Initial Consultation's purpose is to develop a candidate search profile, meet company's manager's that are key to the search, and to gather all pertinent information that will influence the search. Clear communication with decision makers will help us gain a clear understanding of your business and internal culture.
Our 10 Step Process is recognized as critical elements in a successful search.


♦ Formulate a Search Strategy: This will include discussions on networks that will be tapped, local candidates verses out-of-state candidates, relocation options, and packages utilization of industry specific internet job boards, confidentiality of search, compensation and the benefits the company offers. (We will keep you updated on the salary data we uncover during the process.)

♦ Conduct Industry Research: We conduct extensive research in the industries we choose to work with, and develop a list of target companies likely to employ your type of employee.

♦ Identify Targeted Candidates: We identify the prospective candidates who are employed at our target companies and contact them. We will search and source our database, and the Internet. Because our client list is limited to a select few, we have few conflicts, and can search more broadly than other firms.

♦ Screen and Assess Resumes:       Telephone interviews to profile and access skill fit, career history and compensation; assess motivation for change and check preliminary references.

♦ Personal Interviews and Reports: Conduct interview, prepare candidate profiles, present candidate profiles; coordinate interview schedules. (Our candidate profile is a compilation of data on each of the three to five finalists. 

♦ Company Interviews: Client interviews, debrief with candidate, debrief with client on candidate interviews sharing candidate interview notes.

♦ Prepare References: A minimum of 2 references are conducted on all candidates.

♦ Job Offer: Design job offer, extend offer and negotiate acceptance and start date. We maintain continuous contact with both you and the candidates during the interview stage, to facilitate your selection and help develop an offer viewed by you and your chosen candidate as appropriate.

♦ Monitor Resignation Process and Notify Rejected Candidates.

♦ Post Hire Process: Follow-up with client, follow-up with employee.
